Detailed schedule and Board reports

The Advisory Council (AC) meeting will be held on Tuesday afternoon, June 5, 2001 from 1:30-5:00 PM following the ISOC Board of Trustees Meeting and preceding INET'01. A joint ISOC BOT and AC lunch will be held beforehand. We encourage all Organization Member representatives to attend both the ISOC Board meeting as well as the AC Meeting. Unlike in previous years, the AC meeting will be held *after* the BOT meeting, but AC members are encouraged to attend the BOT meeting as observers. The meeting will be held in the INET headquarters hotel, the Sheraton in downtown Stockholm.

This year we plan to highlight some of the very topical and critical areas facing the Internet. To this end, we will have the following guest speakers:

  • Brian Carpenter, ISOC BOT Chair: Highlights from the BOT Meeting.
  • Lynn St. Amour, ISOC President and CEO: Status of the ISOC Platinum Level Sponsorship and key ISOC directions.
  • Geoff Huston: The BGP Routing Table Growth - Cause for Concern?
  • Harald Alvestrand, IETF Chair: IETF Status, Opportunities and Challenges.
  • John Klensin, IAB Chair: Issues with Internationalized Domain Names.

Following the presentations, we will have at least one hour for open discussion about the role of the advisory council and about matters arising from the BOT meeting. If you have issues that you think the council should discuss, please forward them to Ole Jacobsen, the AC Chair at ole@CISCO.COM as soon as possible.

The ISOC Board of Trustees will hold their next meeting on the 4th and 5th of June, 2001 preceding the annual INET conference. It will commence at 9:00 AM on the 5th and will conclude at lunchtime on the 6th. Both the Board meeting and the AC meeting will be held in the Sheraton hotel. It is open to the public.
