Announcement of the finalists for the Stockholm Challenge Award 2001. 742 projects from 90 countries entered The Stockholm Challenge Award 2001. The jury has nominated 100 projects for the final. Evaluation is based on Innovation; User Need; Sustainability; Transferability. Special attention is given to projects that promote democracy, counteract segregation and discrimination or support gender equality. The Stockholm Challenge focuses on the positive effects of today's information society, technology itself is not the issue.
