The IAB held a invitational workshop on character sets on the Internet 29 February to 1 March 1996, at ISI in Marina del Rey, California. The workshop was convened to provide guidance to the IAB and the IETF about the use of character sets on the Internet and to provide, if possible, a common framework for interoperability among the many character sets in use on the Internet. Both of these goals were achieved.
This talk will discuss the recommendations of the final report and will provide retrieval information for the final report and some additional reading.
