Dr David Probert Biography Since 1994, Dr David Probert has been responsible for the Internet Solutions MarketingProgrammes in Europe, Middle East and Africa. These solution sets span all aspects of theIntranet/Extranet, E-Commerce and ISP marketplaces, and their business applications tomajor Fortune 1000 accounts. These Internet solutions have been successfully installed inmore than 30 European Countries, including several more exotic marketing"firsts" : 1st Web-Site and Web-Cam in the Russian Arctic (KOLAnet),1st Live Internet Video-Link-Up between Russian Government (Moscow) & NASA(Washington DC), 1st UK CyberPub, 1st Web-Site in the Vatican City,1st ISP in Egypt, & Internet/E-Commerce Support for the Worlds 1stSupersonic Car. During his 11 years with DIGITAL, Dr Probert has been responsible for several otherEuropean marketing programmes including those for Value-Added Networks, and networkingwith Education & Government; the foundation of todays Internet. Prior to DIGITAL, Dr Probert spent 11 years with British Telecom where he developedBTs computerised corporate strategic planning model that was used for business &investment planning throughout the period of BT Privatisation during the early tomid-1980s. During 1981 to 1984 he was a member of the UK Government Committee on InformationTechnology with particular responsibility for Artificial Intelligence. And since 1991 hehas been DIGITALs representative on the General Assembly for TERENA (Trans-EuropeanResearch & Education Networks Association) Dr Probert has a doctorate degree in Artificial Intelligence from Cambridge University,England, and a 1st Class Honours Degree in Mathematics.
