INET'99 STRENGTHENS SPONSOR AND MEDIA DRIVE WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF SAN JOSE'S JELINEK


HERNDON, VA -- The Internet Society (ISOC) today announced the appointment of Craig Jelinek as Media Relations Chair for INET'99, the premier event of the Internet industry being held June 22 - 25 in San Jose, California. Jelinek, former vice president of world-wide sales for e-commerce start-up Instill Corporation, will manage and coordinate vendor negotiations, oversee marketing communications, lead sponsorship solicitation and research (cash and in-kind contributions), volunteer recruitment and media relations efforts for the 9th annual ISOC event.

"Jelinek brings a wealth of expertise in marketing communications and contract negotiations, as well as strategic relationships in the San Jose tech community, to the INET'99 conference team," said Don Heath, president and CEO of the Internet Society. "Jelinek's expertise will enable ISOC to successfully partner with a number of high-growth companies to ensure that the conference continues to serve the interests of our rapidly expanding global member base while attracting new and broader audiences."

Jelinek recently left his position as vice president of world-wide sales for Instill Corporation, a venture-backed Internet e-commerce start-up. Prior to Instill, he was senior vice president of international sales and operations for Diversified Software Systems, Inc. He previously held the positions of vice president of sales and vice president of marketing for Diversified Software. Jelinek held senior corporate management and operations positions with XtraSoft, Inc., and was founder and president of Micro Business Applications, Inc.
