Connie J. Kendig, Sponsored Programs and Grants Manager
Connie J. Kendig joined the Internet Society in March 2008 as ISOC's first Sponsored Programs and Grants Manager. In this position, she works closely with the Education and Membership departments focusing on program-related evaluation, follow up, and project management. Connie oversees ISOC grants management procedures and promotes effective methods for documenting and disseminating the innovative work of ISOC members, so that the larger community can benefit from the shared knowledge, lessons learned, and creative results from ISOC's programs.
From 2003 to 2007, Connie was a member of the staff of the Third Millennium Foundation, a private foundation in New York City, focusing on promoting respect for diversity and preventing prejudice through support for international human rights and education programs. As the Grants Manager and eventually the Director of Research Initiatives, she acquired a breadth of experience establishing procedures and protocols in grants management and project monitoring, while working with a diverse group of international programs and activists.
Connie began her project management work in 2000 as a Research Assistant with the Treatment Research Institute (TRI) in Philadelphia, working on a national technology data system that collected real-time data on clients entering substance abuse treatment centers. In that position, she focused on database management, networking, training coordination, training implementation, and evaluations.
Connie holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from Villanova University (Pennsylvania) and a graduate degree in Psychology from the New School University (New York City).
