Board of Trustees1999 Board ElectionGeneral InstructionsEnclosed please find your ballot for the 1999 Internet Society Board of Trustees election. The Board of Trustees of the Society is its governing body and responsible for all affairs of the organization worldwide. Current Board Members are listed below, followed by the biographies and statements of each of the 14 candidates. Candidates for election represent the global diversity of its membership. Please read and give your careful attention to the attached biographies and statements prepared by the candidates. This information is also available here. Five trustees are to be elected in 1999 to serve three year terms. Balloting Procedure: Each ballot has been given a unique ballot number as well as a ballot validation number (VN). Ballots were inserted into the mailing envelopes randomly. In order to have a truly secret ballot, there is no correlation between the ballot number and individual member numbers and names. You may cast only one ballot, selecting electronic, paper or fax. If you cast your ballot using more than one way, all of the votes for your unique ballot number will be disallowed. A. Electronic Ballot: Electronic balloting will close at 5:00 PM U. S. Eastern Daylight Time (2200 GMT), 2 May 1999. B. Ballot by Postal Service: 1. Please follow voting instructions printed on the ballot. 2. Place your completed ballot in the self-addressed return envelope and mail to the Internet Society headquarters to arrive no later than 2 May 1999. Ballots received after that time will NOT be counted. C. Ballot by Fax: 1. Please follow instructions printed on the ballot. 2. Make a copy of your completed ballot and fax it (a cover sheet is not necessary) to +1 703 648 9887 to arrive no later than 5:00 PM U. S. Eastern Daylight Time (2200 GMT), 2 May 1999.
