Nominated by: self
Country:
France

Since August, 1999, I have served as VP - Membership for ISOC. I am also the cofounder and vice-chairman of the French chapter. Within ISOC, I have actively contributed to the domain names discussions and the creation of ICANN, for which I was part of the first Membership Advisory Committee. Professionally, I am a consultant, specializing in the strategic use of networks and the Internet. I have written several reports and books on the Internet and Electronic Commerce. In France, I am part of the Ministry of Finance's Electronic Commerce Task Force. I am also currently creating a "Next Generation Internet Foundation".

As a trustee, I would like to influence the Internet Society's priorities towards:

* Developing a vision for itself, now that the Internet is well beyond its emerging phase, and that the Internet "community" has become much more diverse;

* Becoming a less top-down, more networked organizations, building community among its members;

* Efficiently dealing with societal, legal, economic issues related to the Internet, while keeping in mind that on such topics, it is difficult to put forward a single vision valid for every single region of the world;

* Attracting members from new circles, i.e., the Web communities, young Internet users, etc.;

Thank you for considering my nomination.
