Nominated by: Kate Lance <clance@connect.com.au>
Country:
Australia

I have been working in the IT industry since 1986 and have been an active user of the Internet since the Internet came to Melbourne University in the early '80s.

I am currently working at Sausage Software http://www.sausage.com.au after the small company I founded was acquired by Sausage in September, 1999.

A brief CV:

- one year as a Computer Science tutor at Melbourne University
- 5 years software consulting based in Melbourne, Australia
- 4 years software consulting based in San Francisco, USA
- 4 years in Internet start-up mode based in Melbourne, Australia

Other activities:

- 1.5 years serving as a director of ISOC-AU
- 1.5 years serving as a member of the CORE executive - http://www.corenic.org
- 1 year serving as chair of CORE's SRS Working Group, responsible for the early-phase development of CORE's central DNS registry Some of you may know me from the days of IAHC and DNS politics, from which I may say that I escaped barely sane. As with any gruelling experience, it was instructive. The challenges faced by an underfunded non-profit organisation aiming to serve a global membership are significant.

Recently I have been working on the development of the Australian chapter. We have:

- put ISOC-AU on a sound financial footing,
- incrementally grown the membership base,
- appointed an excellent executive director,
- been closely involved in the evolution of a number of public policy issues

Personal details appear below.

Regards -

Leni
