Intelsat is an international telecommunications company offering a full range of satellite based telecom, Internet and broadcast video services in more than 200 countries and territories. Graeme provides the vision and approach for Intelsat's Internet strategy and is responsible for innovation, profitability and revenue growth from the Internet market segment and serves as the highest point of contact for Internet related matters for both customers and staff. When asked why he chose to move to Washington to work for Intelsat, Graeme said "Intelsat is one of the few companies that is committed to global connectivity we have the only network that can truly reach from anywhere to anywhere." Graeme has 23 years of commercial IT&T experience and joined Intelsat in September 2000 from Australia where he had extensive experience with the Internet since 1992. Immediately prior to joining Intelsat Graeme was an Internet and Telecommunications Management Consultant, specializing in business planning and implementation. A recent assignment included the development of a comprehensive business and implementation plan for a $1B telecommunications infrastructure project in the Asia/Pacific region. Between 1994 and 1998 as General Manager - Telstra Internet, Graeme led the team that was responsible for establishing Telstra as the leading provider of Internet carrier services in Australia and one of the leaders in the Asia/Pacific region. Graeme and his team were also responsible for a number of important Internet developments, including one of the first web enabled e-commerce applications, the implementation of 7x24 customer care centers, and robust network and operational systems available to the ISP and corporate Internet marketplace. In 1997, Graeme's team at Telstra in conjunction with Intelsat and Teleglobe, pioneered high-speed asymmetrical satellite Internet services resulting in significant cost savings and network efficiencies. Graeme also provided strategic technical and business support services in the area of directory services, multi-media, cable Internet and dial-up services. Graeme has been a member of the Internet Society Advisory Council since 1996, including participating in advice on funding by organizational membership and the marketing of ISOC and its role to industry. Prior to his involvement with the Internet, Graeme gained extensive experience in a variety of senior management, sales, marketing, product development and systems engineering roles with Telstra and the US based information technology companies Wang and NCR.
