16 June 2008 - The Stakeholder Forums for the OECD Ministerial meeting on the "Future of the Internet Economy" are now underway in Seoul, Korea.
Olaf Kolkman, IAB Chair, presenting at Internet technical community forum for the OECD Mnisterial on the Future of the Internet Economy
The Internet Society was invited by the OECD to coordinate the Internet technical community forum, designed to be a direct contribution to the ministers' work in three areas: Creativity, Confidence, and Convergence. The forum will also provide OECD member states delegates and the Internet technical community an unprecedented opportunity to share experiences and exchange perspectives on the "Future of the Internet Economy".
ISOC and the 16 other organisations who have collaborated over many months in preparation for this forum come from a wide range of entities from around the world. They work with governments, national and international organizations, civil society and the private sector to pursue their objectives in a collaborative and inclusive manner. While each has its own mission and its own role to play, the Internet technical organizations are motivated by a common vision of an open and accessible Internet bringing shared economic and social benefits to all the world's citizens in the future.
