ISOC announces Ambassadors for IGF 2008

18 September 2008 - ISOC is pleased to announce the list of candidates chosen as ISOC Ambassadors for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) meeting to be held in Hyderabad, India in December.

The Ambassador program is designed to involve members in ISOC's policy activities, while providing valuable expertise and know-how to the IGF proceedings. ISOC received over 40 expressions of interest from individuals around the world, making the program highly competitive. In addition to a staff review, ISOC established a small Selection Committee comprised of individuals familiar with the Internet Governance Forum to evaluate applications.

The following candidates have been selected as the ISOC 2008 IGF Ambassadors:

  • Cieślak, Marcin (Poland)
  • Daluwatte, Priyanthi (Sri Lanka)

  • Yang, Sunyoung (South Korea)
  • Guerrier, Reynold (Haiti)
  • Mangal, Anju (Fiji)
  • Poudel, Rajendra Prasad (Nepal)
  • Thakur, Dhanaraj (Jamaica)
  • Leenaars, Michiel (Netherlands)
  • Kadhem Al-Radhi, Ala'a Al-Dhin (Iraq)
