ITU Telecom World Forum - "Open Networks - Connected Minds"

The ITU Telecom World Forum aims to bring together senior telecommunication and ICT industry leaders and decision-makers from around the world to explore areas essential to the continued development of the information society, with discussions centred around the theme "Open Networks - Connected Minds".

ITU Youth Forum

The Youth Forum showcases youth as the future of the ICT industry. Based on competitive submissions, university-level students (aged 18-23) are selected to present their perspectives on the role of ICTs in a range of social, political, and economic sciences. The Internet Society was a proud sponsor of the Youth Forum lunch, where it launched the Next Generation Leaders programme.

The Internet Pavilion

The Internet Pavilion

#Following the success of the Internet Pavilion at the previous Telecom World, ISOC was pleased to once again partner with ICANN and the NRO to host the Internet Pavilion in the World Telecom 2009 Exhibition hall. With the theme "Open Internet: Open standards - open processes - open innovation" the Internet Pavilion showcased the value of the Internet Model of development and the important roles played by the many organizations that comprise the Internet Ecosystem.

During the Exhibition, each of the Internet Pavilion partners hosted a short, informal session discussing important issues in sustainable Internet evolution and expansion. ISOC's Internet Pavilion session was held on Wednesday 7 October 2009, on the subject "Building infrastructure and Internet communities in the developing world".
