Welcome to the Asian Bureau
The Asian Bureau was established in January 2008 to serve ISOC's objectives and priorities for the Asian region. The Bureau is the focal point for ISOC activities, initiatives and programmes in the region related to education and training, membership, public policy and standards and technology. Regional Bureaus allows ISOC to better respond to local, national and regional needs and this is the third such Bureau established by ISOC after Africa and Latin America/Caribbean.
ISOC's past activities in the Asian region have been focused on ccTLD and technical support, and the Regional Bureau aims to enhance and expand these to the full complement of ISOC's initiatives and programmes, including Enabling Access and InterNetWorks, and supporting the technical as well as the policymaker/regulator community. The Bureau will also provide a greater level of presence for individual members, chapters and organisational members.
The Regional Bureau is being established and headed by Mr. Rajnesh Singh, who has extensive experience with the Asia Pacific Internet and business community.
