North American Bureau

About the North American Bureau

The North American Bureau was established in January 2010 to serve as the focal point for ISOC activities in the region and to advance the goals and mission of the Internet Society. Our goal is to work with our chapters, members, and partners to create a stronger presence and greater local visibility for the Internet Society in the North American region.

The North American Bureau is led by Sally Wentworth.

Roles and Responsibilities

The North American Bureau:

  • Positions ISOC as a technical resource to policy makers and to reinforce ISOC’s role a trusted source of unbiased, technically sound information.
  • Strengthens the profile of the Internet Society within the North American Internet community, through regional activities such as INETs.
  • Represent ISOC and its programs and initiatives throughout the region.
  • Act as a resource in support of our network of regional chapters.

The North American Bureau will collaborate closely with our regional Members (individual, chapters and Organizations) to leverage our local presence and to contribute and support local issues and opportunities. Through our proximity to local policy, regulatory, and technology issues, we will engage with the North American Internet community to implement ISOC’s mission and message.
