Abstract

Using a combination of video, sound and externally-acquired images through networking and satellite interconnectivity, health physicians are now able to give instant diagnosis to patients located in any part of the world. This is a breakthrough as previously, patients in remote locations were unable to receive medical assistance on time.

Using the case study of a link-up between Sri Lanka and Singapore via satellite inteconnectivity, the issue of Telemedicine would be examined against the backdrop of social, political and economical factors in Sri Lanka.
